Lac La Biche Birding Society
May Species Count 2010
Preparation meeting for the May Species Count will take place on Friday May 28th from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm at the BCMInns ( 2nd floor community meeting room). A slide show to review bird species will also be held on Friday evening. On Sunday a Wind-Up Lunch/Dinner will be held at Tom's Pizza and Steakhouse Restaurant from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Friday (May 28, 2010)
Pre-Count Welcome and Information Night
- Meet at BCMI Inn from 6 pm – 9 pm
If you would like to travel with some during the count Please come to this meeting time to arrange travel plans.
Saturday (May 29, 2010)
Count Areas to be covered:
- Sir Winston Churchill Park
- Lakeland Provincial Park And Recreation Area
- Ironwood Lake, Pinehurst Lake
- Touchwood Lake, Shaw Lake, Dabbs Lake Trail, Mile 12 Trail
- Elinor Lake / Beaver Lake Area, Beaver River Valley
- Missawawi Lake, South Hylo, North Plamondon to La Biche River
- Owl River Area ( North end of Lac La Biche Lake)
- Vilna – Bellis Area
- Lac La Biche Islands – boat required
- Lac La Biche Mission & Old Trail
- Bear Lake
- Wandering River
- Hwy 881 south of Heart Lake Truck stop
- Grassland/ Boyle
- East of Athabasca
Sunday (May 30, 2010)
Optional Bird Count Day:
- Last Chance to find whatever birds we missed on Saturday
Set up own meeting points.

Wind – up:
- Meet for afternoon Lunch/Dinner at Tom’s Pizza and Steakhouse Restaurant the Birders' Eatery at 3pm – 5pm (Identify yourself as a Birder for a discount).
